The 500 CNC Flex combines four horizontal CNC machining centers and a five station pallet changer into a machine that can essentially 1/4 the cycle time on parts. A Sauter 6-position turret is installed at each station, allowing a part to be machined from start to finish in one cycle, eliminating the need to transfer a part among seperate machining centers.
Each machining center in the 500 CNC Flex has 20" x 20" x 20" travels, providing a wide range of manuverability on the part to be machined. With quality components such as Fanuc 18i controls, a Camco Ferguson Intermittor index drive, and Ruckle rotary tables, precise accuracy is always achieved.

The basic operation of the 500 CNC Flex System is simple. This system is actually 4 CNC Machining centers tied into one machine, allowing for a large increase in productivity as 4 tools are always on a part at once.
An operator will load a part onto the pallet changer and the table will then index to the first machining center, where the desired work is performed on the part. While the first part is being machined, the operator will load another part onto the pallet changer, and the table will index again when the work is complete. The work from the first machining center now moves to the second machining center where another operation is performed, while the new part moves to the first machining center and is machined at the same time!
Once the pallet changer is fully loaded with parts, each time the table indexes, 4 machining operations are performed at once, with no more need for separate machining centers! Downtime is drastically reduced, and the need for multiple machining centers for work on the same part is reduced or eliminated. With a Sauter 6-position turret at each machining center station, a huge range of operations can be performed.
